Mayor Bloomberg: End Stop and Frisk Now!

Just this past weekend, over 50,000 people silently marched from Harlem to Mayor Bloomberg's house to send a clear message: it's time to end the racist stop and frisk policy. It has been a failure in so many ways. Even though the NYPD has done hundreds of thousands of stop and frisks, an overwhelming majority of these lead to nothing: no arrests, no guns off the streets, nothing. We leave embarrassed and bitter people in our wake and send a message to communities that the only crime they are commiting is being a person of color. This makes our problems worse. Stop and frisk amounts to us leading the city backwards when we should be moving forward.
